Not Everything...continued



Actually, looking at it, I need to lose the chin line, too. It's interesting how much more you can see from a photograph than you can from the real thing. Perhaps its just that it puts some distance between you and the work. Or perhaps it's more honest than your eyes. Answers on a postcard please!

I wonder if viewing a photo of your work is similar to looking at your work in a mirror? There must be something about putting a layer between you and the painting. I do agree tho that everything seems to change when you see the piece on screen. The surface of this encaustic work has some interesting textures. The image of the face is haunting.

You are right, things do look different in photos. They pick up different things and emphasize others that our eyes don't.
Useful tool really.
